Okay y'all, there's been some success in relation to the Super Bowl Ad I shared yesterday, and one of the three commercial spots has been removed. But, there are two more spots with the same material that have yet to be removed from the Super Bowl Line up. This is why YOUR voice is SO important. Let's get these ads removed completely. Join us in letting Nascar on NBC know that #GlutenIsntAPunchline by signing the petition here. Have a great day y'all!

NBC released their Super Bowl advertisement. Their ad is specifically targeted toward NASCAR fans and their upcoming coverage of this popular "sport". In this new ad to be seen by millions during the most-watched sporting event of the year, they clearly communicate that people who eat Gluten Free are somehow weaker and "part of America's problem". This isn't the first time people have used the Gluten Free community as a target for "humor", but to my knowledge this is the first with such an enormous, worldwide audience. This ad communicates an awful idea of the reasoning behind eating Gluten Free as opposed to recognizing it as a lifestyle required for those of us with an intolerance to Gluten or Celiac Disease. If you haven't seen the ad, you can watch it below. I could say lots of ugly things about this ad, but that would do no good.
So, I will simply say this: there is a time and place for "comedy". There are certain topics acceptable for comedic license in the media -- complete with its wide-reaching impact. However, making fun of people who eat Gluten Free as "weak" and "part of America's problem" is absolutely unacceptable. Common courtesy alone would dictate this is inappropriate, and I don't understand why you would use a public forum such as a Super Bowl ad to portray this close-minded and allegedly uninformed view. If you'd like to sign the petition started by GlutenDude to have NBC remove this ad from the Super Bowl line up, go here. Have a great night, y'all! Love, Olivia While browsing through Target yesterday (cause what's a day without Target, right?) I stumbled upon these adorably cute Mini Freschetta Gluten Free Pizzas! These would be perfect if you needed to bring a Gluten Free option at a Pizza Party, or a lunch, even just dinner for one. Regardless of the way you use them, these are adorable. If you want more information about Freschetta Gluten Free Pizza, than check out their website here. Happy Mini Pizza Eating Y'all!
Have an awesome day! Love, Olivia I'm SUPER excited to tell y'all about this product! But first off, I did want to let you know that I received this product for free to review, but all opinions within this review are solely my own!! So, let's get to the review already . . . right? ;) This product is a substitute for breadcrumbs, and is made with Bob's Red Mill Gluten Free Oats! Texturally, it's finer than a lot of breadcrumbs, but it still gets a nice crunch to it when baked. Flavor: Wonderful! The breadcrumbs are very well seasoned, and adding cheese as directed only emphasizes the flavor of the spices. Texture: Like I mentioned earlier, a bit finer than regular bread crumbs, but great nonetheless. If you want to see the texture . . . you're in luck!! Check out the picture below! Nutrition Facts: The product has minimal salt, therefore it was suggested to me to add cheese or salt. I added some parmesan, and it tasted delicious! Here are the nutrition facts and cooking methods: Let's get to the fun part . . . What I made with it! I made baked "fried" cheese, which got a wee bit melty earlier than I would've liked, so then I broiled it to give it a bit more of a "fried" texture. Melty cheese sticks not all that pretty, but SUPER tasty: Oh, and I also made chicken tenders. So, here's a picture of them breaded before baking, because . . . I forgot to take a picture afterwards. :/ Overall, this product is fantastic. It's an awesome substitute for breadcrumbs, and it tasted DELICIOUS! Y'all really need to check out Josie's Coat of Oats.

Love, Olivia So, I had a few kiwis ripening on the counter . . . let's be honest here they had gotten REALLY ripe. So I did what everyone in that situation would do . . . searched for a recipe on Pinterest! Obviously. After a bit of research and some recipe reading, I came up with my own spin on Kiwi Lemonade!! Here's what you'll need:
Directions:
Peel your kiwis and throw all your ingredients into the blender. Blend until smooth. Makes between 4 and 6 servings depending on the amount of water you add. Serve over more crushed ice for a refreshing thirst-quenching treat. Hope y'all have had a relaxing Saturday!! Love, Olivia Today is my doggie's 2nd birthday, and because I'm a crazy dog lady . . . I'm posting about it on my blog. Lol. Happy Birthday to this little ray of sunshine! Enjoy this random selection of cute Ava pictures below. :D Hope y'all have a GREAT day, and that the cute puppy pictures made you smile!
Love, Olivia Okay, we've all been there, you're running errands, and BAM you're hungry, which can become just a tad bit more complicated when eating Gluten Free. So, I thought I'd share some things we keep on hand . . . either in the car or in our purses. I'll also be highlighting some other fun Gluten Free Snacks that y'all might enjoy. 1) GoPicnic Meals! These are awesome, and you can split the components into multiple snacks . . . or eat it as a meal. We keep a couple of these in the console of our car. My favorite is this one: 2) Annie's Snickerdoodle Cookies! These are quite tasty and would be great to tide you over until you could get to something safe and more substantial. 3) Way Better Snacks Sweet Potato Chips: Super tasty. Great with hummus, but I have yet to find a tasty shelf stable hummus. Have y'all? Let me know in the comments! 4) Fruit Strips from Target: Another great little snack to keep you from passing out in the middle of Target. You can find these there, as a matter of fact! Last but not least . . . 5) Justin's Nut Butters: They have little snack packs of these that would be AWESOME with Gluten Free Pretzels! I hope this gives y'all some ideas for easy snacks to keep from starving while running errands.
Hope y'all have a wonderful day! Love, Olivia |
