While I was there I happened to stumble upon these:
Have a Tremendous Thursday y'all!!
Love,
Olivia
I don't usually shop at Ingles . . . mostly because I tend to find better deals on Gluten Free Items at other stores, but last night after Bible Study we had a quick errand to run, and stopped into Ingles to pick up the couple things on our list. While I was there I happened to stumble upon these: If y'all know anything about Ingles, you know that Laura Lynn is their store brand, which usually makes things a bit cheaper. For example, these were $2.99 for 10! Which isn't bad. They smell like fresh waffle comes when their cooking, which is kind of fun. I think their tasty, and may do a review later this week. But, I just wanted y'all to know these were available, because it was news to me. :)
Have a Tremendous Thursday y'all!! Love, Olivia

Today is Shrove Tuesday, Fat Tuesday, Mardi Gras (Hence the picture below), the day before Ash Wednesday, and last but not least . . . Pancake Day!! The reasoning behind Pancake Day is actually kind of cool: Basically, this celebration's roots are in the pagan festivals of Slavics that intended to ward off the evil gods of cold and darkness. Pancakes, originating in the 15th century, symbolized the sun and feelings of warm weather, and they marked the impending beginning of spring. Different ingredients used in making the pancakes represented different values of the Christian faith:
Pretty neat, huh? So, in honor of Pancake Day, I made . . . Pancakes! Shocker, I know. If you want to make the super simple pancakes I made . . .
Here's what you'll need:
Here's what to do:

Love, Olivia I posted the other day about the Mi Del pie crusts I found at Kroger, and finally got around to using the Chocolate Snap pie crust the other day for a Chocolate Pudding Pie, and thought I'd show y'all how it turned out: Hope you have a Fabulous Friday!
Love, Olivia Okay y'all, I tried the Cocoa Coconut Gluten Free Granola from Larabar . . . and thought I'd tell you what I think of it. Flavor:
Delicious! It tastes a lot like an Almond Joy bar in my opinion, and is just super tasty in general. For flavor, I'd give it ten of ten stars!! :D Texture: Awesome! It's nice and crunchy, nothing stale or gross. Just great granola. Out of ten stars, I'd give it a total of . . . ten stars! Overall: I really enjoyed this granola! It's nice and crunchy with fantastic flavor! And, I'd totally recommend it. Let me know if y'all have tried it in the comments below! As usual, Larabar has NO clue who I am, and all opinions are solely my own. Have a wonderful day, y'all! Love, Olivia There are some awesome Gluten Free products on sale this week at Kroger. I found Mi-Del Gluten Free Pie Crusts for $1. You can find them on Amazon for $7 or more, which isn't cheap . . . so, you get around $6 in savings at Kroger! :D As if those weren't enough to fulfill all your pie-making needs, the Bob's Red Mill Pie Crust mix is also on sale for $1. So, there ya' go -- all kinds of great foundations for pies and quiches! Check out the Pinterest board in the side bar for some yummy filling ideas!! ;) Hope y'all have an awesome rest of your weekend!
Love, Olivia These are super duper yummy . . . AND . . . a serving is 32 puffs for 150 calories.! Or you could be a freak like me, and do the math to learn that you can have roughly 22 for 100 calories. (Each puff is 4.6 calories if you cared to know.) Personally, I think that's WAY better than the glutinous 100 calorie packs that give you like 5 pretzels. Ha. Anyways . . . if you want more nutritional info, here ya go! Overall, these are awesome snacks, and I'd totally recommend them! They taste somewhat like Pirate's Booty, but I'd definitely give them a better rating because they have a cheesier flavor. If y'all want to try them, you can find them at Target for like $3, or on Amazon for the crazy overpriced amount of $8.43 with $4.99 shipping. Let me know if you try them and what you think of them in the comments below!
Have a great day! Love, Olivia Okay y'all, remember when I got my Send Me Gluten Free Box? Well, with that, I received a coupon for a free loaf of Canyon Bakehouse Gluten Free Bread! I picked mine up at Target a couple weeks ago, and realized I NEVER wrote a review. Oops. Well, wait no more because . . . this post is my review! :D Texture:
Fantastic! Just like regular bread. No weird dry spots or anything, just a consistent bready texture. I'm giving it ten out of ten stars as it is the breadiest bread I've eaten since going Gluten Free, AND it doesn't need to be toasted to have great texture. It's awesome RIGHT OUT OF THE BAG! *insert angels singing here!* Storage: Just throw it on the counter. It won't matter. Seriously though, IT'S SHELF STABLE! No more gross cold bread sandwiches, no sir. This bread is just grand straight out of the bag. Ten of ten stars for storage. Flavor: FABULOUS. Seriously y'all. It tastes like normal bread! It's super duper yummy with some nice flavor complexity, but most importantly, it has flavor of its own. Nothing unpleasant or mostly tasteless like some other Gluten Free breads I've tried. Just really great flavor. Ten of ten stars. Price: I got it for free with the coupon, but . . . if you did buy it at Target, I believe it'd be around $6. Ouch. I know. I will tell you that though I think it is DELICIOUS; its price is a quite a bit more than I'd like to pay. Seven out of ten stars for price. Overall: I think that Canyon Bakehouse has achieved their mission of having me love bread again. The ONLY way I could love it more . . . is if the price were lower. I'm giving them an eight out of ten. Like I've mentioned, the product is fantastic. However, the price is not stellar. I hope this review was helpful. Let me know if you've tried their bread and what you thought of it in the comments below! As usual, all opinions are solely my own, Canyon Bakehouse has NO clue who I am. Have a great day y'all! Love, Olivia Hey y'all! It'd been awhile since my last product review, so I decided I'd write up a little review on the LiveGfree Blueberry Pancakes. This is what the packaging looks like: And, here are the Cooking Guidelines! Now, because a serving of these is three pancakes, and there are three methods of cooking the pancakes, I tested all three ways to cook them for you! The first method I tried was the oven. Which resulted in pancakes with a moist interior and crunchy exterior. The flavor is great with a good blueberry to pancake flavor ratio. The oven method resulted in a consistent texture throughout the pancake. It does leave your mouth feeling a bit dry afterwards though. Overall, I'd rate these pancakes a 6/10 as the exterior was too crunchy for my tastes, and they left my mouth feeling a wee bit dry. The second method I used was the toaster which resulted in a drier feeling pancake. It had a mildly crunchy texture, less than the oven, but still a bit crunchy. The blueberries were a bit more flavorful than with the oven cooking method. The center was a bit smushier than I'd prefer. I'd give them a 7/10 as the smushy center impeded my enjoyment of the pancakes overall! The third method (microwave) resulted in a great pancake. Really great texture, with wonderful flavor. A bit low on the blueberries for me, but great nonetheless. The pancakes were airy, but not fluffy. Great for a frozen pancake though. Overall, they were soft and pancakey. This was my very favorite method of cooking. 9/10. In all, these pancakes are quite yummy regardless of the way they're cooked. I personally would suggest microwaved with a bit of butter and syrup. Like so: Let me know if you try these out in the comments! I would totally recommend them! :D
As usual, ALL opinions expressed in this post are mine and mine alone. Aldi has no idea I'm reviewing their product! Have an awesome day!! Love, Olivia |
