Hope this has helped y'all a bit!
Happy Easter!
Love,
Olivia
So, you're up late browsing the web for ways to make LAST MINUTE Gluten Free Rolls to pair with your Easter ham, and all the recipes have 3,012 steps that you don't care to go through this late. Well, you should go pick up these Udi's rolls at your local grocer! I found them at Ingles, but they're available at other retailers as well. They're delicious, and will be the perfect accent to your Easter Dinner. I do have one simple suggestion though, seal them in foil packets in groups of two with 1/2 teaspoon of water to cook. It will make them far softer.
Hope this has helped y'all a bit! Happy Easter! Love, Olivia

I've been hearing rave reviews of Pillsbury's Gluten Free Funfetti Cake Mix, but until this week I couldn't find it in a store near me. Sad, I know. Anyway, I found the Gluten Free Funfetti mix at my local Walmart the other day, and thought I'd share my take on it with y'all! My sister made the mix into cupcakes and topped them with almond buttercream . . . (think delectable wedding cake, y'all!!) Now, we'll split this review into three parts (per usual) Flavor, Texture, and Price. Let's dive right in, shall we? Flavor:
Awesome. These taste exactly like what I remember of the glutenous version of Funfetti cupcakes. I'd do a side by side comparison for y'all because I'm pretty sure that they're exactly the same, but I won't be doing that because . . . Gluten! Lol. They are simply delicious with no weird aftertaste like some Gluten Free mixes give you. I'd declare the flavor of these a ten out of ten! :) Texture: Perfect. There's no dryness or grittiness whatsoever. My favorite part, however, is they are light and airy with no denseness at all. In fact, texturally, these may be the very best cupcakes I've had since going Gluten Free. I'd give the texture a ten out of ten. Price: Not bad at all. This mix is $2.98 at my Walmart versus around $4.00 for other similar Gluten Free Cake Mixes I have purchased. They're still more expensive than the glutenous version, but that's on par for almost all Gluten Free products. I wasn't shocked or disappointed. I'm giving the price a ten out of ten, because it's more reasonable than any other Gluten Free Cake mixes I've tried. Overall: I think this mix is absolutely fantastic, the taste is fantastic, they're light and airy and more cost effective than other Gluten Free Cake Mixes I've seen. I'm very excited about this product, and I would definitely recommend it to y'all as well as buying it again myself!! So go out and get one for the weekend, bake it up into cupcakes or another fun application, come back here and post your creation so we can all see how fun the "funfetti" can be!! As usual, all opinions expressed within this review are mine and mine alone. Pillsbury doesn't have a clue who I am. Have a Fantastic Friday, y'all!! Love, Olivia Okay y'all, remember when I got my Send Me Gluten Free Box? Well, with that, I received a coupon for a free loaf of Canyon Bakehouse Gluten Free Bread! I picked mine up at Target a couple weeks ago, and realized I NEVER wrote a review. Oops. Well, wait no more because . . . this post is my review! :D Texture:
Fantastic! Just like regular bread. No weird dry spots or anything, just a consistent bready texture. I'm giving it ten out of ten stars as it is the breadiest bread I've eaten since going Gluten Free, AND it doesn't need to be toasted to have great texture. It's awesome RIGHT OUT OF THE BAG! *insert angels singing here!* Storage: Just throw it on the counter. It won't matter. Seriously though, IT'S SHELF STABLE! No more gross cold bread sandwiches, no sir. This bread is just grand straight out of the bag. Ten of ten stars for storage. Flavor: FABULOUS. Seriously y'all. It tastes like normal bread! It's super duper yummy with some nice flavor complexity, but most importantly, it has flavor of its own. Nothing unpleasant or mostly tasteless like some other Gluten Free breads I've tried. Just really great flavor. Ten of ten stars. Price: I got it for free with the coupon, but . . . if you did buy it at Target, I believe it'd be around $6. Ouch. I know. I will tell you that though I think it is DELICIOUS; its price is a quite a bit more than I'd like to pay. Seven out of ten stars for price. Overall: I think that Canyon Bakehouse has achieved their mission of having me love bread again. The ONLY way I could love it more . . . is if the price were lower. I'm giving them an eight out of ten. Like I've mentioned, the product is fantastic. However, the price is not stellar. I hope this review was helpful. Let me know if you've tried their bread and what you thought of it in the comments below! As usual, all opinions are solely my own, Canyon Bakehouse has NO clue who I am. Have a great day y'all! Love, Olivia Okie dokie, I figured we might as well stay on the theme I've created this week with breakfast food reviews! Up for review today is . . . Safari Cocoa Crunch from Mom's Best Cereal! Flavor: Great! They're quite tasty, and have awesome chocolatey flavor, with no funky aftertaste! Now, just as a warning . . . they don't taste like cocoa puffs, but they are DELICIOUS! 10/10 stars for flavor. Texture:
Awesome. No weird gritty texture, or anything else strange. In fact, the texture is actually quite smooth for a corn cereal. 10/10 stars for texture. Price: Not bad at all. We buy it at Kroger for around $2.50 a box, and have found it 10 for $10 there as well. You can also find it on Amazon for $4.99 a box. 10/10 stars for price. Overall: This cereal gets 10/10. Great taste, great texture, and great price! What more could you want in a cereal!? That's all for today y'all! Let me know if you've tried this cereal, and what you think of it in the comments below! Have a great day y'all! Love, Olivia Okay y'all, I picked up a variety pack of Chex Gluten Free Oatmeal at Kroger the other day, and thought I'd tell y'all what I thought of this new product! Ease of use: Super Simple. Pour Oatmeal into bowl, Boil water, Pour water over oats, Stir, Enjoy. 5/5 Stars, because it seriously couldn't be simpler. Flavor: Fantastic! Just in case y'all hadn't noticed yet, I'm a big fan of oatmeal, and I eat it fairly regularly. My favorite flavor out of these was the Maple Brown Sugar. It's super yummy. Flavor gets 5/5 Stars. Portion: So many instant oatmeal packets give you close to no oatmeal, these are different. The packaging touts that they're hearty servings, and I would completely agree! (picture below) 5/5 Stars. Overall:
These are awesome products. The flavor is great, they're quick and easy for breakfast on the go, and they have decent portion size. I'd give Chex Gluten Free Oatmeal a 5/5. I TOTALLY recommend it. As usual, all opinions are my own, and Chex has NO clue who I am! Have an awesome day y'all! Love, Olivia A few weeks ago I won a giveaway on the I'm A Celiac blog! I wrote an initial review, and I promised an in-depth one later. Well, it's later, and here's my more expanded overview! ;D As y'all know, I received a variety pack which included one of each of the following flavors:
My favorite by far was the Nuts & Seeds. The flavors all blended together perfectly, and it had an awesome combination of spices I really enjoyed. Now, I'm sure you're thinking, "Well, Olivia, oatmeal is great and all, but is there anything else I can do with this stuff?" Why, yes, yes there is! You can make cookies! :D I made some with the Chocolate Cherry oatmeal! You can find the recipe on the container of Modern Oats, and get great breakfast cookies! They were a bit dense in texture. Other than that, they're AWESOME! You can find my blog post about taking the ingredients above and turning them into cookies here! As if that wasn't enough cool things about Modern Oats, they are also:
Overall, I think Modern Oats is an awesome company with awesome products! I loved every single flavor I tried and hope they'll be sold in a store near me sometime soon! To find them in a store near you, check out the Find A Location page on their website! Or, you can order online here. Hope y'all found this helpful! As usual, all opinions are solely my own! Modern Oats has no idea who I am! Have an AWESOME day! Love, Olivia Today I'm going to talk about the Krusteaz Gluten Free Honey Cornbread Mix! Here's some information on it:
And here are the instructions: Here's what my cornbread looked like once I cooked it: (Yes, it's in a cast iron skillet) So, we'll go about this in the usual fashion here at Livie's Gone Gluten Free by discussing the product in categories and then ranking those categories with stars!
Texture: It's a touch on the crumbly side, which is really strange because it is moist. Yet it crumbles SUPER easily. (Just a hint though, this problem can be significantly decreased by a sizable dollop of butter). I'm giving the texture 3/5 stars. Flavor: GREAT! I thought the flavor was fantastic. It has a far more authentic cornbread taste than other cornbread mixes I have purchased -- a pleasant surprise. I think it tastes delicious. I'm giving the flavor 5/5 stars. Price: Not terrible. The price I paid at Walmart is pretty much on par with all the other Gluten Free Cornbread Mixes I can get locally. I'd give the price a solid 4/5 stars. Overall: I think it's a great product, and I will most likely buy it again. It's got a great corny cornbread taste that is superior to others I've tried. My only issue is that it crumbles VERY easily. If it weren't for that, this product would get 5/5 stars. However, because of the crumbliness; it gets a 4/5. Hope y'all found this review helpful!! As usual, ALL opinions in this post are mine and mine alone. Krusteaz has NO IDEA who I am. If you've tried this product, please let me know what you thought of it in the comments below!! Have an awesome Saturday, Y'all! Love, Olivia Okie dokie y'all, today I'll be doing my review on the Cup 4 Cup Brownie Mix as promised! :D Let's dive in . . . shall we? As you can see, I added maraschino cherries to half the pan, SO YUMMY. Anyways, moving on to my review: Texture: Perfect. Exactly as a brownie should be. Not too moist, but not too crunchy. They're just right! They're the Goldilocks' oatmeal of brownies. I'd give them a five out of five for texture! :D Flavor: Yummy! They're perfectly chocolatey without being overtly rich. The cherries were an awesome addition to the overall flavor. :D For flavor I'd give these brownies a five of five. Price: Um . . . pricey? See: Now, in the area of full disclosure, I got this mix on sale for $11.11 including tax, but it's still more then I'd like to pay for a brownie mix on a regular basis. For stars I'd give them a three out of five.
Overall: I liked these. A lot. The texture is great. The flavor is GREAT . . . but, the price is KILLER. I'm sorry, but I just can't justify spending that much on brownies. I'd totally recommend these if they were priced more reasonably, but I currently can't do that because of how overpriced they are. Hope y'all enjoyed this review! Let me know if you've tried these in the comments below! Have a GREAT day y'all! Love, Olivia Okie dokie y'all! The awesome people at Foster Farms picked little old me to do a review for them!! So make sure to get your entries in before that!!
I hope y'all have a GREAT day! Love, Olivia Okay y'all, today I'm going to review Rudi's Gluten Free Bakery Spinach Tortillas! :D To start off, I bought them at Kroger where eight of them were $1.29 on Manager's Special (proof in the picture below) their regular price is listed as $2.64 which is FAR better price wise than Aldi's LiveGfree Wraps (six for $3.99) So, that's awesome. They get MAJOR points for great price, right? But, I'm sure you're wondering "how do they taste?" Well . . . Let's be all scientific and break this up into categories . . . shall we? Texture: Fabulous. A bit thinner than your run of the mill glutenous tortilla, but fabulous none the less. Out of 10 stars, I'd give the texture a solid 8. The definitely could be fluffier, but this isn't naan we're talking about here, it is tortillas. And for tortillas, these are pretty stinkin' awesome! Pliability: FANTASTIC. You can roll these up, and nothing happens. Want to bend one in half for a sandwich? NO PROBLEM! These will do that. Unlike other Gluten Free tortillas I've tried, these are truly pliable. 10 out of 10 stars. Taste: The big question . . . "How do these taste!?" Well, I'm gonna tell ya'. Ready? Okay! (a little former cheerleader lingo there) These taste awesome. Maybe it's just because I've been loving anything spinach lately, but these are delicious! They have a savory flavor, but it is definitely not straight spinach. Now, don't get me wrong, I'm not saying to use these for PB&J, but you may be surprised by how subtle the spinach flavor really is. Overall, they get 10 out of 10 stars for taste! And, finally . . . Price: Now, I know we touched on this a second ago, but I truly think these are UNBEATABLE for the price. I'm hoping there will still be some on Manager's Special next time I head to Kroger! For price I'm giving these 10 out of 10 because I've NEVER seen Gluten Free tortillas for this price, and I'm SO excited about these! ;) That's all the gushing I can do on these in one post, but I would DEFINITELY recommend them! So go try some, I bet you'll like them! You can even make a quesadilla like I did! See: (As usual, ALL opinions expressed in this review are my own. Rudi's has NO IDEA who I am, though I am definitely interested in making new friends. Hear that, Rudi?) Have a Tremendous Thursday, y'all!
