Then the Lord said to Moses, “Why are you crying out to me? Tell the Israelites to move on. Exodus 14:15 Happy Sunday y'all!!!
Love, Olivia Whether you're looking for ways to fulfill your sweet tooth cravings, making a special breakfast, or simply want to make your kitchen smell divinely delicious . . . (kinda like walking by Cinnabon -- only gluten free!) this is the recipe is for you! :) Ingredients: 1 box Gluten Free Pizza Crust Mix (I used Aldi's LiveGfree) 1 teaspoon Yeast 2 Large Eggs 8 tablespoons Butter, divided in half ½ cup warm water ¾ cup Sugar 1 tablespoon Cinnamon ½ teaspoon Vanilla Glaze: 1 cup Powdered Sugar 2 Tablespoons water 1 teaspoon Vanilla Directions:
This recipe delivered the most incredible gluten free cinnamon roll I have ever had. Going past bakeries can be a huge downer when living a gluten free lifestyle. Making these at home completely eliminates any pain I've ever felt when passing by Cinnabon empty-handed. Super delicious! Hope y'all have had a wonderful Saturday!!
Love, Olivia Well . . . Sulley cupcakes to be exact, but really, who cares when they're this cute: And from the side . . . My sister made these adorable little cupcakes with the LiveGfree Yellow Cake Mix from Aldi, and then added in a few drops of turquoise food coloring to the batter to make them the pretty color you see above. Then she made cream cheese frosting and added purple food coloring to achieve the gorgeous purple frosting that completes the cupcakes Sulleyish appearance. :D As you can tell, they aren't an exact or perfect match to Sulley, but they're pretty close, and would make the PERFECT snack for a movie night . . . assuming you're watching Monsters, Inc!! ;) Or another Pixar Movie!
What's your favorite Pixar Movie? I love Monsters, Inc as much as the next girl, but I'd have to say that my favorite Pixar movie is Brave. Hope y'all have had a GREAT day! Love, Olivia It's officially the year of the sheep!! :D Which, according to the Chinese Zodiac of . . . Wikipedia should be a year full of promise and prosperity. If you would like to find out what your zodiac sign is . . . check out this chart: My Chinese zodiac sign is the Pig, what's yours? Let me know in the comments below. :D Happy Chinese New Year y'all!
Love, Olivia About a year ago I started eating Gluten Free exclusively to manage a Gluten Intolerance, which I discovered I had after watching and observing my mom's need to eat Gluten Free to try and manage a fibromyalgia diagnosis. Roughly six months ago I started this blog to help others who were eating Gluten Free by sharing my experiences, as well as to make connections in the Gluten Free community as a whole. Shortly after my "internet debut" of sorts, I found out about the Gluten Free - Allergen Free Expo (GFAF Expo) and set a goal to be an official blogger there by my blog's second birthday (September 16, 2016). I thought this was totally achievable with some hard work. Instead, I started writing consistently, and y'all started reading. So, I thought "Hey, why not apply for the 2015 GFAF Expo? The worst they could say is NO, right?" I went ahead and applied, because the GFAF Expo is an incredibly AWESOME event. With over 100 vendors, including big names in the Gluten Free Community like Udi's, Rudi's, Glutino, and Enjoy Life Foods, lots and lots of samples for Gluten Free products, and let's not forget some informative and helpful classes, the GFAF Expo is the place to go if you have a Gluten Intolerance, Celiac Disease or any other food-related issues. This event gives you the opportunity to interact with Brand Representatives face to face and learn more about the products you love, as well as try some new ones from brands you may have never heard of before! :) That power-packed list above is just the tip of the iceberg as I . . . drumroll, please . . . am more than thrilled to announce: I have been chosen as an Official Blogger for the GFAF Expo in Atlanta on April 18th, 2015! I'm so incredibly excited, y'all! I never in my wildest dreams thought I could accomplish this goal a mere six months into my time as a blogger, but I'm shaking off being astounded and trading it for the sheer excitement that I get to be a blogger for the GFAF Expo! Having lived in Georgia for nine years, I'm not one bit disappointed that this trip will trek me back 'round my old stomping grounds either! Now, I'm sure that y'all want to go to the expo as well, right!? Well, you can get your tickets here, and until March 17, you can get 30% off with the code EARLYBIRD. You'll also receive a FREE 1-year subscription to Delight Gluten Free Magazine if your tickets are purchased online thru 4/17. If all of that wasn't enough information for y'all . . . here's some more: You read that right, I'll be hosting a giveaway RIGHT HERE on my blog for FREE tickets to the Atlanta GFAF Expo! Five free tickets to be exact. Therefore, five of y'all will get a chance to join me at the GFAF Expo in Atlanta on April 18th! :D How cool would it be for me to get to meet some of you face to face! Stay tuned because more information about the giveaway will be coming soon, and I wouldn't want you to miss it. I'll see y'all right back here tomorrow! ;) Have a Wonderful Wednesday!!
Love, Olivia Today is Shrove Tuesday, Fat Tuesday, Mardi Gras (Hence the picture below), the day before Ash Wednesday, and last but not least . . . Pancake Day!! The reasoning behind Pancake Day is actually kind of cool: Basically, this celebration's roots are in the pagan festivals of Slavics that intended to ward off the evil gods of cold and darkness. Pancakes, originating in the 15th century, symbolized the sun and feelings of warm weather, and they marked the impending beginning of spring. Different ingredients used in making the pancakes represented different values of the Christian faith:
Pretty neat, huh? So, in honor of Pancake Day, I made . . . Pancakes! Shocker, I know. If you want to make the super simple pancakes I made . . .
Here's what you'll need:
Here's what to do:
Are y'all celebrating Pancake Day? If so, let me know what flavor pancakes will be gracing your plate in the comments section below!! :D Hope y'all have an awesome Pancake Day!! Love, Olivia Enjoy Life Foods is an awesome brand within the Gluten Free Community, offering foods free from the Top 8 allergens. Big news . . . really big . . . Today . . . they made the announcement that they will be joining the Mondelez International (the owners of Toblerone, Stride, and Cadbury as well as a large range of other companies) family. This means that they'll have additional distribution and a myriad of other awesome benefits. Read more about Enjoy Life's take on it here. Additionally, if you'd like to read Mondelez International's Press Release, find it here. I think this is going to be an awesome partnership, and I am excited to see what's to come for Enjoy Life Foods in the long run of their relationship with Mondelez! Do y'all have a favorite product from Enjoy Life Foods? Out of the things I've tried, my favorite would have to be their Sugar Crisp cookies. They're quite tasty. I'd love to hear what y'all's favorite product is!! Please let me know in the comments below! Hope y'all have had a Marvelous Monday!!
Love, Olivia Happy, Happy Sunday y'all!! Hope your day is going well!! When I came, why was there no one? When I called, why was there no one to answer? Was my arm too short to deliver you? Do I lack the strength to rescue you? By a mere rebuke I dry up the sea, I turn rivers into a desert; their fish rot for lack of water and die of thirst. Isaiah 50:2 "Desert Song" by Hillsong United This is my prayer in the desert When all that's within me feels dry This is my prayer in my hunger and need My God is the God who provides And this is my prayer in the fire In weakness or trial or pain There is a faith proved Of more worth than gold So refine me, Lord, through the flame And I will bring praise I will bring praise No weapon formed against me shall remain I will rejoice I will declare God is my victory and He is here And this is my prayer in the battle When triumph is still on its way I am a conqueror and co-heir with Christ So firm on His promise I'll stand And I will bring praise I will bring praise No weapon formed against me shall remain I will rejoice I will declare God is my victory and He is here All of my life In every season You are still God I have a reason to sing I have a reason to worship And I will bring praise I will bring praise No weapon formed against me shall remain I will rejoice I will declare God is my victory and He is here This is my prayer in the harvest When favor and providence flow I know I'm filled to be emptied again The seed I've received I will sow Hope y'all have a Splendid Sunday!!
Love, Olivia It's Valentine's Day! Which means EVERYTHING is either pink, red or heart shaped, right? My sister made these super cute, Gluten Free heart shaped Double Doozies with Pillsbury Gluten Free Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough and Buttercream frosting from the Kroger Bakery (yes, you can buy just the frosting.) That she then dyed pink. These were part of our snacks during our movie day! :D Regardless of what y'all did to celebrate Valentine's Day, I hope it was a great one!!
If you'd like to share what y'all did for Valentine's Day in the comments, feel totally free to. I'd love to hear what y'all did! :) Happy Valentine's Day, y'all!! Love, Olivia |
