I tried out this recipe that I found on Pinterest! It's two ingredient cheese dip y'all! AND . . . it's really yummy. How awesome is that!? I went to Earthbound Trading Company in Chattanooga on Thursday, and tried on goofy masks . . . see below photo. ;) Tried Canyon Bakehouse Bread! (Review coming soon!) AND . . . We toured the Mayfield Dairy in Athens, TN! Which is quite interesting, and gets you a free ice cream! Pair all that with a few days of working at the mall, and you have my week!
What did y'all do last week? Let me know in the comments below! Happy Monday! Love, Olivia Happy Sunday y'all! When the angels had left them and gone into heaven, the shepherds said to one another, “Let’s go to Bethlehem and see this thing that has happened, which the Lord has told us about.” Luke 2:15 The first Noel, the angels did say Was to certain poor shepherds In fields as they lay In fields where they Lay keeping their sheep On a cold winter's night That was so deep Noel, Noel, Noel, Noel Born is the King of Israel They looked up And saw a star Shining in the the East Beyond them far And to the earth it It gave great light And so it continued Both day and night Noel, Noel, Noel, Noel, Born is the King of Israel. Have an awesome day y'all!!
Love, Olivia Okay y'all, here are some pictures of the lights from the TSO concert, because they were so stinking cool they deserve their own blog post. :D Enjoy!! Have an awesome day y'all!
Love, Olivia Last night I went to a Trans Siberian Orchestra Concert. It was such a fun show, and the performance was SO SO amazing, but I've got some photos to edit before I write my post on it! Until tomorrow, enjoy this video! :D Have a great day y'all!!
Love, Olivia It's been awhile since I've done one of these, so I figured I'd pop in today with some winter-inspired "Terrific Things"! Y'all ready? Okie dokie! Let's dive right in! 1) Crocheted Snowflakes: As if going to Michael's and NOT spending my entire paycheck on yarn wasn't hard enough . . . these fairly "floated" into my Pinterest feed the other day! I suddenly NEED more yarn. Don't ask why. I just do. Moving on . . . 2) Ways to Spice up your Hot Chocolate: Who doesn't love hot chocolate!? Like, tell me if you don't, but I've never met a person that doesn't like a rich, delicious cup of steaming hot chocolate. If you ARE a cocoa fan, however. This is for you: 3) May Your Days Be Merry and Bright Art: I love this idea! Plus, it seems like it'd be a VERY simple afternoon craft. What's not to like!? 4) This Card: It's winter, which in most places that means it's cold. So you're probably spending more time indoors. Don't waste all that time watching Gilmore Girls! Write someone you care about a note . . . maybe on this awesome Gilmore Girls notecard!! ;D 5) Beautiful Paper Snowflakes! More snowflakes? Why yes, indeed! I think that these are super fun! Find out how to make them here. I am going to follow this tutorial meticulously, because I have never ever made any homemade snowflakes that look anything like this. If you do, maybe you could post your pics in the comments and let me know this is possible. You may never see mine . . . I think that's all the Terrific Things this Tuesday can handle!
Thanks for taking the time to read my post! Let me know what you thought of it in the comments! I hope y'all have a Terrific Tuesday! Love, Olivia Since May I've been working on a throw size Corner to Corner afghan. I know that sounds like a SUPER long time, but I haven't worked consistently on it at all. I finished the main piece in September or October, folded it up, and swore I'd wait to put the edging on it later. And I did wait, till last week when I decided to finish it up! I've worked late in to the night for the past couple days, even after a flub that resulted in me ripping all of the border off of it and starting over I finally . . . finished it last night!! Woo Hoo!! :D And here it is folded: It's all finished, I just need to block and wash it! For a better view of the edging, check out the picture below! If you care to know, the edging was worked in three rounds. Round one consisting of groups of three double crochets followed by a round of three half double crochets, and finished with a round of shells made of six double crochets!
Thanks for letting me pat myself on the back, and have a great day!! Love, Olivia Okay y'all, in case you didn't know, I really like to crochet. It's really fun and a great way to feel productive while watching TV. The other thing you may not know is that I taught myself to crochet using mostly Youtube videos. I also used this book, but today we'll be talking about Youtube, as well as a few tips and tricks I've learned along the way!
Once you've learned some basic skills like chaining, single and double crochets; you can tackle some simple projects like these: Corner to Corner Dishcloth Here's a fun, basic pattern that can also be made into an afghan! It can all be done in one color OR used as a practice session for color changes! :D Here's part 2 . . . Leaping Stripes and Blocks Blanket Another basic pattern with beginning crochet stitches. This one has the opportunity for color changes or could be done in all one color if you aren't ready to attempt color changing yet! :D Find this pattern HERE. A Simple Scarf! The easiest pattern on this list! No color change needed and a video to follow in case things get complicated! This one could be a great gift idea for those folks on your list who appreciate something handmade! It is also a quick project to complete at the last minute if you need a gift for someone you'd not had on your original gift list! (You know you've been there when someone gives you something unexpectedly and you have nothing planned for them.) Find the pattern HERE. That's all for today!! :D
I do hope this was helpful to y'all in some capacity. Please let me know what y'all thought in the comments below!! Have an AWESOME day, y'all!! Love, Olivia Happy December, y'all! The Christmas season is now upon us, and in the midst of all things Santa and shopping I think it's INCREDIBLY important to remember what the true reason for the season is! I stumbled upon this video on Facebook after a friend of mine shared it, and I think it perfectly depicts the real reason for this season. It's about the birth of Christ. It's also about the ultimate sacrifice that baby would make for me, and for you, and for everyone else on this planet. "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life." John 3:16 KJV I hope you enjoyed the video! Let me know what you thought of it in the comments below! :D
Have an awesome day and a wonderful Christmas Season! Love, Olivia |
