Alrighty y'all, I went to Sam's Club today and found a new Gluten Free Product from Krusteaz (which I searched for and couldn't find on their website), and I thought I'd share it with y'all!! It's Krusteaz Gluten Free All Purpose Flour!! We paid $9.98 for five pounds of it at Sam's today, and I'm SUPER excited to try it out!! Here are a couple of cool factoids about it:
I'm SO excited to try this over the next few days and will DEFINITELY be letting y'all know EXACTLY what I think of it!
I hope y'all have a fantastic rest of your day! Love, Olivia Okay y'all, I won a giveaway on the I'm A Celiac Blog, and got a variety pack of Modern Oats!! I'm going to tell y'all over the next few weeks what I think of them as I try them all, but today we'll talk about the Mango Blackberry Flavor. Texture: Great! So many quick or instant oatmeals are mushy and gross texturally. Modern Oats actually has the texture of oats. :O This flavor has Pepitas in it which I really liked. Out of five stars, I'd give the texture of Modern Oats a five. Taste: Delicious. I like that it actually tastes like the fruit that's in it. It's just super yummy, and that's really all I can say about it. :D Out of five stars, I'd give the flavor of Modern Oats a five. Ease of Use: Super simple. If you can boil water, you can make Modern Oats. Seriously though. All you do is add the water, put the lid on, and wait three minutes . . . Voila! Oatmeal! Overall:
I thought it was delicious, it was easy to make, and I would TOTALLY recommend it! For more information on Modern Oats, check my upcoming blog posts! Which flavor sounds best to you!? Let me know in the comments below!! :D Hope y'all found this helpful, and that you have a GREAT day!! Love, Olivia Okay y'all! I was sent a Send Me Gluten Free Box as a thank you for reviewing last month's Send Me Gluten Free Box, and decided I might as well review this one for y'all, too! ;) You'll notice I have a guest in my video this time! You can find her blog here. You can find my post on the muffins here! Also, I misspoke in relation to the other Breeze Bar flavor. It was Chocolate CRANBERRY not Chocolate CHERRY. OOPS!
Now, in addition to the yummy samples, I also found some coupons in my box--including:
All the products mentioned in the video can be found on the following sites:
Also, I have now tried the Nuun drink. It was fair, but it just wasn't as flavorful as I had hoped it would be. It creates more of a flavored water taste than a true sports drink, but it was still tasty. I love Send Me Gluten Free, and I have thoroughly enjoyed the opportunity to try new products the past two months! You can subscribe here for $30 a month, but the price does decrease if you purchase additional months in advance. ;) I hope y'all enjoyed this review, and don't forget to enter my Foster Farms Gluten Free Giveaway!! ;D Have a Terrific Tuesday Y'all! Love, Olivia Okie dokie y'all! I got a Send Me Gluten Free box this month as a thank you for reviewing the box last month (you can find that here), and while there's a video review coming of most of the products, there were a few products that I mentioned yet didn't review. So . . . here we go! ;) In the Send Me Gluten Free box this month I received this sample of Vegan and Gluten Free Banana Chocolate Chip Muffin Mix from Amazing Foods for health! As usual, we're going to be reviewing it based on three factors: Taste, Texture, and Ease of Use. Our normal fourth factor (price) can't be added in because I received the product for FREE! ;) Taste: Okay. Not as great as I had hoped, but not awful. It did have a bit of an oily after taste which I assume is a result of using coconut oil in place of butter. Out of five stars, I'd give these muffins a solid three. Texture: First off, I added some Almond Milk to the batter to moisten it, as it was quite dry when made according to the directions. Once thinned to normal muffin batter consistency, it made nine muffins. They were kind of spongy, and didn't rise much. They were FAR better texturally after I put butter on them, which kind of defeats the whole Vegan idea, but I'm not Vegan so . . . Anyways, out of five stars, I'd give these three. Ease of Use: Super simple. I had no issues making these, except for the really dry batter, which was easily fixed with some Almond Milk. I'd rate the ease of use as three of five. Overall, these muffins were a solid three. Nothing gross, but nothing spectacular either.
Let me know if y'all have tried these, and if so what you thought of them in the comments! Have an awesome day!! Love, Olivia (P.S. Enter my Foster Farms Giveaway here) Okie dokie y'all! The awesome people at Foster Farms picked little old me to do a review for them!! Pretty rockin' right? Anyways, I decided to do a video review of this fun new product for y'all! You can watch it below! So, did you catch that!? I'm hosting a giveaway for Foster Farms right here on the blog!! Follow the instructions on the widget below for a chance at 1/5 coupons, but don't forget that you MUST like the Foster Farms Facebook page! The giveaway will end on November 17th. So make sure to get your entries in before that!!
I hope y'all have a GREAT day! Love, Olivia Okay y'all, today I'm going to review Rudi's Gluten Free Bakery Spinach Tortillas! :D To start off, I bought them at Kroger where eight of them were $1.29 on Manager's Special (proof in the picture below) their regular price is listed as $2.64 which is FAR better price wise than Aldi's LiveGfree Wraps (six for $3.99) So, that's awesome. They get MAJOR points for great price, right? But, I'm sure you're wondering "how do they taste?" Well . . . Let's be all scientific and break this up into categories . . . shall we? Texture: Fabulous. A bit thinner than your run of the mill glutenous tortilla, but fabulous none the less. Out of 10 stars, I'd give the texture a solid 8. The definitely could be fluffier, but this isn't naan we're talking about here, it is tortillas. And for tortillas, these are pretty stinkin' awesome! Pliability: FANTASTIC. You can roll these up, and nothing happens. Want to bend one in half for a sandwich? NO PROBLEM! These will do that. Unlike other Gluten Free tortillas I've tried, these are truly pliable. 10 out of 10 stars. Taste: The big question . . . "How do these taste!?" Well, I'm gonna tell ya'. Ready? Okay! (a little former cheerleader lingo there) These taste awesome. Maybe it's just because I've been loving anything spinach lately, but these are delicious! They have a savory flavor, but it is definitely not straight spinach. Now, don't get me wrong, I'm not saying to use these for PB&J, but you may be surprised by how subtle the spinach flavor really is. Overall, they get 10 out of 10 stars for taste! And, finally . . . Price: Now, I know we touched on this a second ago, but I truly think these are UNBEATABLE for the price. I'm hoping there will still be some on Manager's Special next time I head to Kroger! For price I'm giving these 10 out of 10 because I've NEVER seen Gluten Free tortillas for this price, and I'm SO excited about these! ;) That's all the gushing I can do on these in one post, but I would DEFINITELY recommend them! So go try some, I bet you'll like them! You can even make a quesadilla like I did! See: (As usual, ALL opinions expressed in this review are my own. Rudi's has NO IDEA who I am, though I am definitely interested in making new friends. Hear that, Rudi?) Have a Tremendous Thursday, y'all!
Love, Olivia Hey there! Don't stand out there on the porch and freeze! Fall is definitely bringing a chill to the air around these parts. Y'all can come on in! ;) "What are we chatting about today?" you ask. Well, we're gonna discuss the new Gluten Free Krusteaz baking products! So grab your beverage of choice, and we'll start talking about these new items Krusteaz has recently released! :D Y'all got your drinks ready? Okay then, let's look into Krusteaz's new product line! The product line currently has a total of four mixes, all of which are certified Gluten Free. Double Chocolate Brownie Mix: These are described as, "combining rich, fudge-like texture with loads of chocolate chips" Now, I tried these at Costco when I was in Colorado, and they're . . . just ok. Not my favorite Gluten Free brownies, but they are still yummy. Honey Cornbread & Muffin Mix: This sounds yummy! They describe it as being made with real honey and suggest using it in a Spicy Garden Cornbread Muffins Recipe, which I think sounds delicious. Blueberry Muffin Mix: I'm REALLY excited about these. I love muffins, with blueberry being one of my favorite flavors, with cranberry orange as a close second (Are ya listening, Krusteaz?) These come with canned wild blueberries, which is a bit better than those dehydrated blueberry wannabes. . . Buttermilk Pancake Mix: I don't know about y'all, but this is what I think of when it comes to Krusteaz. I grew up with pancake Saturdays, and we almost always used Krusteaz Pancake Mix which brings back fond memories. I'm hoping the Gluten Free version will elicit the same result. :) I'm truly excited about this new group of products from Krusteaz, and I'm looking forward to trying the rest of them soon. I also think it'll be interesting to see how Krusteaz expands their line within the Gluten Free community.
Now, it's y'all's turn to chat. Tell me which product you're most looking forward to trying. Are you a brownie addict? A pancake fiend, or more of a cornbread and chili kind of person? Let me know in the comments below! By the way . . . you'll notice I've changed the comments section to a Disqus conversation! It'll give us all a better way to interact. So, please try it out and let me know what you think! Have a tremendous Thursday, y'all! Love, Olivia |
