In the Send Me Gluten Free box this month I received this sample of Vegan and Gluten Free Banana Chocolate Chip Muffin Mix from Amazing Foods for health!
As usual, we're going to be reviewing it based on three factors: Taste, Texture, and Ease of Use. Our normal fourth factor (price) can't be added in because I received the product for FREE! ;)
Taste:
Okay. Not as great as I had hoped, but not awful. It did have a bit of an oily after taste which I assume is a result of using coconut oil in place of butter. Out of five stars, I'd give these muffins a solid three.
Texture:
First off, I added some Almond Milk to the batter to moisten it, as it was quite dry when made according to the directions. Once thinned to normal muffin batter consistency, it made nine muffins. They were kind of spongy, and didn't rise much. They were FAR better texturally after I put butter on them, which kind of defeats the whole Vegan idea, but I'm not Vegan so . . .
Anyways, out of five stars, I'd give these three.
Ease of Use:
Super simple. I had no issues making these, except for the really dry batter, which was easily fixed with some Almond Milk. I'd rate the ease of use as three of five.
Let me know if y'all have tried these, and if so what you thought of them in the comments!
Have an awesome day!!
Love,
Olivia
