Love,

I posted the other day about the Mi Del pie crusts I found at Kroger, and finally got around to using the Chocolate Snap pie crust the other day for a Chocolate Pudding Pie, and thought I'd show y'all how it turned out: Hope you have a Fabulous Friday!

One chilly February day in the hills of East Tennessee a girl decided to attempt making Gluten Free bread. Naturally she started it off by searching Pinterest for Easy Gluten Free Bread recipes, which resulted in finding a recipe for Gluten Free Flatbread from A Girl Defloured. She proceeded to make that recipe with Krusteaz Gluten Free All Purpose Flour. And the dough turned out exactly as it should. But, because she was out of parchment paper she used foil to line the stones on which she planned to bake the flatbread. She baked them, but the foil screwed with the flatbread texture. Which resulted in the backs of the flatbread having a shiny look to them. Hence . . . the UFO statement in the title of this post. ;) Anyways, the flavor is alright. I wouldn't recommend eating them on their own, but with any kinds of topping/ filling . . . they're really quite tasty. I made Honey BBQ Chicken from Love, Pomegranate House, and used a flatbread sliced in half as a bun. See: Y'all should try out this recipe. Just make sure to use a silpat or a piece of parchment paper instead of foil in order to not end up with UFO flatbreads.
Let me know if y'all have made anything Gluten Free that didn't turn out as expected in the comments below! Have a Terrific Thursday! Love, Olivia Hey y'all! Thought I'd share some easy Gluten Free Breakfasts I've made over the past few weeks! :D 1) Dippy Yolk Eggs with Toast (Canyon Bakehouse 7 Grain Bread) and Cherry Tomatoes. 2) A Gluten Free Blueberry Muffin from Walmart! So, there ya go. A few easy Gluten Free Breakfasts! Check back here tomorrow for a new post! ;) Love, Olivia Hey y'all! It's Tuesday, and you know what that means! Terrific Things Tuesday here at Livie's Gone Gluten Free! :D Here are some Terrific Things I'm loving this week: 1) Sewing Dolls! We've well established on this little bloggy of mine that I might as well be five years old. So, after the recent procurement of a sewing machine, we've been stitching up a storm over here. One of my new most favorite pastimes is stitching up new "friends"and designing clothes for them. I've felt super productive when I've taken a pile of fabric and yarn and made it into a doll in an afternoon. Meet Felicity Jane! 2) My New Yarn Storage! Before you ask . . . no, that's not all the yarn currently in my possession . . . I may be a yarn addict, but that's better than drugs, right? Anyway, there are two more storage boxes from Michael's under the hope chest in my room as well as a bag in the sewing area for hair, but those aren't nearly as pretty as this: 3) Embroidery: This kind of relates to number one, but I've found that hand stitching is actually quite satisfying. I've been creating faces for the dollies over the past couple weeks. Like this one, for example: 4) Prizes! I worked at Vera Bradley during this past holiday season, which I LOVED. So, I just worked my last shift for them on Saturday. Because of a contest we were having during my time there I got a prize . . . which just so happened to be the scarf I wore Sunday. It's the Soft Fringe Scarf in Lucky Dots, and I LOVE it. 5) The Blog Being Featured! Super fun stuff! I'm now listed under the GF/ AF Bloggers on Gluten Free Mama's blog! I'm so excited about it, and the opportunity it will bring for more folks to find my little corner of the internet! ;) That's all, y'all!
Hope your Tuesday is Tremendous! Love, Olivia This post is part of an ongoing series here at Livie's Gone Gluten Free! If you want to see the other posts . . . click here. After the post I wrote on the Super Bowl, I felt the need to write another post on manners. So . . . here goes. If you don't have anything nice to say, don't say anything at all. Now, I don't know about y'all, but growing up I heard this from my mama and most other adults in my life about 5 billion times a week it seemed. Those weren't all directed at me, mind you, but it was a great reminder throughout my childhood. It became engrained in my mind as much as John 3:16 or the Golden Rule, and though I may choose in my meanest, angriest moments to not follow this advice, the common principle behind it is applied to much of my interactions with others to this day. So, why this chat on the aforementioned statement in bold print? Well, I think it has a link to what I wanted to discuss today, and that is: Differences aren't license for ridicule. I know, I know . . . there will ALWAYS be people who get their kicks from tearing others down. Don't get me wrong, I recognize that. But that's not what I'm talking about. See, people in the Gluten Free Community (myself included) fight on a regular basis to have our intolerance/ allergies/ Celiac Disease recognized as a real problem. You see, most of us didn't choose this life style. We HAVE to eat this way in order to avoid a plethora of unsavory symptoms, which luckily are mostly preventable simply by following a Gluten Free diet. Therefore, when people mock us for eating a certain way so we don't get sick . . . it's quite offensive. You see, 1 out of every 133 people suffers from Celiac Disease and even more people have a Gluten Intolerance. Making light of their legitimate dietary restrictions is just not considerate. That's where the statement about not saying anything comes in. If you, or the company you work for believes that cracking a joke about Gluten Free Living is the best way to boost laughter or page views, you may be right. But, you'll ALWAYS catch more flies with honey than vinegar, so why tear people down to find your five minutes of fame? All I'm saying is that the next time you're thinking about cracking on joke about Gluten Free living, or telling your coworker it's a made up condition, think about this statement first: Just because we eat differently doesn't mean we've become immune to ridicule. Please just be considerate of the folks around you. It makes life a whole lot easier. What are y'all's thoughts on this topic? I'd love to hear what you think in the comments below, but please be nice. Have a Marvelous Monday, y'all!
Love, Olivia Happy Sunday Y'all! Hope you have fun at any Super Bowl festivities you attend! I apparently am a Seahawks fan today after unintentionally coordinating my outfit with their team colors, all so I could wear my new scarf, lol. Praise the Lord, my soul; all my inmost being, praise his holy name. Psalm 103:1 Now, the lyrics are in the video, but if you want them printed out . . . here ya go! ;) Bless the Lord oh my soul Oh my soul Worship His Holy name Sing like never before Oh my soul I'll worship Your Holy name The sun comes up It's a new day dawning It's time to sing Your song again Whatever may pass And whatever lies before me Let me be singing When the evening comes Bless the Lord oh my soul Oh my soul Worship His Holy name Sing like never before Oh my soul I'll worship Your Holy name You're rich in love And You're slow to anger Your name is great And Your heart is kind For all Your goodness I will keep on singing Ten thousand reasons For my heart to find Bless the Lord oh my soul Oh my soul Worship His Holy name Sing like never before Oh my soul I'll worship Your Holy name Bless You Lord And on that day When my strength is failing The end draws near And my time has come Still my soul will Sing Your praise unending Ten thousand years And then forevermore Forevermore Bless the Lord oh my soul Oh my soul Worship His Holy name Sing like never before Oh my soul I'll worship Your Holy name Bless the Lord oh my soul Oh my soul Worship His Holy name Sing like never before Oh my soul I'll worship Your Holy name Yes I'll worship Your Holy name I'll worship Your Holy name Sing like never before Oh my soul I'll worship Your Holy name Jesus I will worship Your Holy name Worship Your Holy name Have a Super Sunday, y'all!!
